Ninna is passionate about CSR, and as new Compliance Specialist in JYSK, she is central to the work with responsible supply chain management.

In spring 2018, Ninna Bilstrup Rask entered the doors to the head office for the first time. Newly educated as business lawyer and ready to begin a new chapter as Compliance Specialist in JYSK’s purchasing department.

"I am positively surprised by the depth of JYSK’s CSR work. We walk the talk. Among other things, the membership of Amfori BSCI helps ensure that our Code of Conduct is transformed to actions," says Ninna. 

Amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (Amfori BSCI) is a supply chain management system to ensure responsibility in the supply chain. All members of BSCI agree to a common Code of Conduct, which, among other things, prohibits child labour, forced labour, discrimination and corruption, and sets requirements for safety and decent working hours.

Impressed with BSCI

Through the job at JYSK, Ninna has gained in-depth knowledge of Amfori BSCI. For several reasons Ninna is impressed with the system:

"When all members of BSCI join the same Code of Conduct, BSCI helps to align the requirements for the producers. This is important, because it is a challenge if producers meet different requirements from individual companies. Then time is spent on paperwork instead of actually creating the change," says Ninna.

About Amfori BSCI

Worldwide Amfori BSCI has more than 2,000 members and more than 50,000 registered producers.

The producers are audited by a third party and obtain a rating that reflects their performance in relation to Code of Conduct.

Another aspect, which Ninna likes about BSCI, is the focus on continued development and education.

"Ongoing improvements are the core of BSCI – rather than an unrealistic idea about reaching the goal from day one. As a company, we power the change," says Ninna.

Aware of responsibility

That JYSK is aware of the company’s responsibility is important to Ninna.

"When you have the size of JYSK, you have an impact on many people. It means a lot to me that we take on the responsibility that comes with this. It is great to be able to feel good about my job,” she says.
