JYSK completes major IT shift as last former DBL country joins Unified Commerce
JYSK reaches an important milestone in its One JYSK programme, as the final former Dänisches Bettenlager (DBL) country switches to the integrated Unified Commerce (UC) platform.
With Italy completing its transition this January, all seven former DBL countries – Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria and Switzerland – are now running on Unified Commerce, connecting all stores and webshops across markets.
The rollout in Italy marks the completion of one of the last, main objectives in the One JYSK programme, to bring all former DBL regions into one integrated IT system.
“This is a huge project involving every branch of the organisation. IT and our colleagues across countries have shown incredible dedication within their fields and delivered a great solution for our stores, customer service and B2B,” says Michael Olesen, Retail Operational Director at JYSK.
As a result of the transition to Unified Commerce, JYSK has implemented solutions to order online and pick up in stores in even more countries, meaning customers have access to the complete online assortment on top of the assortment available in stores.
“Colleagues in stores already using Unified Commerce describe it as intuitive and helpful in simplifying their daily tasks, especially when handling customer orders, product information and stock ordering,” says Michael.
“We are extremely proud of everyone’s effort in making this a smooth transition,” he adds.
Lotus Notes retires
With the rollout in Italy, all 1,486 stores in the former DBL region are now using the Unified Commerce platform, which enables the full shutdown of previous systems, leading to one clear IT direction across JYSK.
“Working on a single platform allows us to focus our IT resources on developing our UC platform further for the benefit of stores, customer service, B2B, and most importantly our customers. Whether they visit us in-store, online or through customer service, they will experience a more seamless customer experience,” Michael explains.
Accelerating the global transition
Across JYSK, 1,597 stores are currently operating on Unified Commerce with the biggest milestone being the former DBL regions. JYSK is now accelerating the final phase of the global rollout, which will bring the more than 3,300 JYSK-operated stores onto the same integrated platform.
Next in line are Sweden, Finland and Norway, all scheduled to begin the pilot project this summer. Later this year, the UK, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland are expected to begin their rollouts as well.
The final transition is already off to a strong start in the Nordics, as the Swedish and Norwegian webshops have already launched on the UC platform, giving local teams a running start ahead of the in‑store rollout.
