Experienced Tamás Szűcs is new Country Director in Hungary and Austria

The new Country Director has more than 20 years of experience in retail and has been part of JYSK for most of his professional career.

Tamás Szűcs joined JYSK in 2008 and has had several roles in the company. Most recently as Head of Retail in Hungary, Austria and Greece. Now he is ready for new challenges and has been promoted to Country Director for JYSK Hungary and Austria, while Greece has become an independent JYSK country.

“Becoming Country Director is both a great honour and a responsibility for me. JYSK has been a defining part of my professional journey, and I am proud to take on this role and continue building strong teams, driving growth and developing our business in Hungary and Austria together with our colleagues,” says Tamás. 

The new Country Director spent five years as District Manager before being appointed Retail Manager in 2014, where he became a member of the Country Management Team and gained extensive experience in business planning and regional operations. From 2015 onwards, he was also involved in international projects, including supporting the Greek organisation.

Strong customer-first mindset

In 2020, Tamás took on the role of Head of Retail. In this position, he was responsible for retail and concept operations across Hungary, Austria, and Greece, working closely with multi-country leadership teams and supporting the implementation of the JYSK 3.0 store concept across nearly 250 stores.

Tamás Szűcs officially starts in his new role on 1 March 2026.
