JYSK has decided to speed up the process of modernising all stores to Store Concept 3.0. This work is expected to be finished by the end of 2024.

3.0

Almost 1,000 of the 3,000 JYSK stores worldwide have now been updated to Store Concept 3.0. This has proven a great success, and that is why JYSK will now speed up the process and modernise all stores before the end of 2024.

One of the stores that has been updated is the one in Lund, Sweden, where the store was modernised in January 2021. According to Store Manager Malin Abrahamsson, it has had a great impact.

The sales of extra products have risen as well as the sales in general. I am sure that it is the result of the fact that customers think the products are more beautiful, when they are presented in this way,” says Malin.

Even though the store was rebuilt in January, Malin still experiences 20-30 customers every day that express that they are amazed. They say that it is faster to find products on their own.

“It is much easier for customers now to see what fits together if they, for example, decide to buy a couch. I think they see the full picture much better now. The JYSK store almost looks like a home since the change,” says Malin.

To Malin, the store also looks much more trendy, and she and her colleagues have a better overview of the store.

“It is easier for us in the store to work with the right employee in the right place, so they can meet our customers. If there are many customers in the pillow and sheets area, we realise that quicker with the new concept,” says Malin.

One store a day

On an overall level, JYSK has seen that sales have increased by 5-10 percent in all 3.0 stores, and that is why the process of updating stores will already be done by the end of 2024. This means that more than one store must be rebuilt every day.

“We know that this requires a lot from a lot of different departments. However, we must stay up to date, and the new concept gives the stores a more Scandinavian look with less steel and more wood, which our customers are very happy with,” says CEO & President Jan Bøgh.
