For the first time, our colleagues from the Customer Service Center in Romania and Bulgaria went on a team building together. They had fun, they got to know each other and they shared experiences from their department.

The summer started with a weekend trip to the mountains for 15 colleagues from the Customer Service Centers in Romania and Bulgaria. The destination: Bușteni. They reached the small mountain city on Friday evening full of energy and eager to socialize.

“Our destination was a rustic lodge in Bușteni, Prahova Valley, where we had excellent accomodation and a lot of landmarks to visit”, explains Florentina Ștefan, Customer Service Supporter JYSK România.

BARBECUE AND MUSIC IN THE EVENING

The first evening they prepared dinner by themselves and made barbecue. They had the chance to work together, have different tasks and be a team. They all agree that the Friday evening party was the highlight of the trip.

Dana Cujbă, Customer Service Manager, remembers: „At first I was afraid that they will not communicate with each other, because they come from two different countries. After everyone arrived, we played some music and we all became more relaxed. Because the Bulgarian colleagues were our guests, we let them choose the music and I discovered that our Romanian colleagues had the same taste in music. We choose not to dine at a restaurant and prepare our own dinner instead, because I wanted to work on something together. It was a rainy day, so it took a while to clean the grill and prepare the fire. The boys were in charge of the cooking and the girls arranged the table”.

Emanuel Mareș, Customer Service Supporter JYSK România, had the same doubts at first: “This year’s teambuilding was the funniest I had. What I liked the most was the spontaneous party we had on Friday, where we all had fun, including our Bulgarian colleagues, even though at first I was afraid that we will not interact too much, because we didn’t know each other that well”.

Music and common experiences at work were the two things that helped the two teams connect.

Cveta Mincheva Coneva, Customer Service Manager JYSK Bulgaria, thinks that the idea of a common teambuilding was very good: “We managed to exchange some experience regarding the customer’s types, the atmosphere in the Customer Service Center, the curious and difficult cases and all of this coming with lots of fun, jokes and smiles. We made bbq, went to the mountain, where it was very beautiful and picturesque, we danced and showed each other some of the traditional dances in Bulgaria and Romania”.

A WALK AT 2200m ALTITUDE

For the next day, the colleagues planned a trip to Bucegi Mountains plateau, where they visited the Sphynx (at 2160m altitude) and Babele (at 2292m altitude) rock formations.

„The place was beautiful and the scenery amazing. We had a dose of adrenaline on Saturday, when we took the cable car to the Bucegi plateau”, says Ionuț Pricopie, Customer Service Supporter JYSK România.

Cosmin Lazăr, Customer Service Supporter JYSK România, also thought it was an interesting experience: “We managed to visit the Sphynx and Babele. It was very cold when we reached the top of the mountain and there was a little snow left. It was a nice experience, I would like to do this again”.

For Dana, the trip to the plateau at 2200m was a little scary: “There were clouds and when the cable car went into a cloud you couldn’t see anything, not even the cables

URLĂTOAREA WATERFALL

After the cable car trip, some colleagues went on a hike to Urlătoarea waterfall, while the others stayed at the lodge to get some rest.

“The route through the woods was difficult because it had just rained and it was muddy, but that made the trip more fun. We all got dirty. The wood was quiet, we did not hear any bears, even though we were warned that we might find bears. When we got to the waterfall we forgot all the adventures we had on the road. The waterfall was amazing”, said Daniela Voicu, Customer Service Supporter JYSK România.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

On Sunday, the two teams said goodbye and went back home. The colleagues from Bucharest stopped in Brașov to visit the city center and eat ice cream. For the colleagues from Sofia, the road to their homes was longer.

“The team building was OK, although it was too far away for us and the weather during our trip was an obstacle. I personally liked the mountain view and the different style of the buildings in Busteni. Our colleagues from Romania were great, very welcoming and we would love to meet them again, but somewhere in the middle”, says Krassina Andreeva, Customer Service Coordinator JYSK Bulgaria.

We would love to gather again, but next time we will be the hosts, so we won’t travel soooo much (12 hours per direction). J Melnik or Golden sands, wait for us!”, says Cveta.
