A Polish smile for Greek customers
When Marzena Dedek and her Greek husband moved from Poland to Greece, she was quick to contact JYSK Greece to hear about job opportunities. Now she works in the JYSK store in Gerakas, Athens.
Customers that visit the JYSK store in Gerakas, Athens, are sure to be met with a smile, when they enter the store. And often that smile is given by 41 year old Marzena Dedek.
She is from Poland but lives in Greece, and she is able to serve the customers in fluent Greek.
“I moved to Greece in 2003 because of my husband who is from Greece. In 2013 we moved back to Poland, and I started working for JYSK in Radomsko. I was really happy working for JYSK and for my job in Radomsko, so when our family decided to move back to Greece again, I contacted current Retail Manager in JYSK Greece, George Tsironis, to find out if it was possible to get a job in JYSK Greece,” explains Marzena.
Strong culture
Fortunately it was, and after having gone through store training in Elliniko, Marzena was moved to the JYSK store in Gerakas in January 2018, where she was part of the team preparing the store to open on the 8th of February.
“I am really happy to be working here. I am part of a team dedicated to providing the best service to our customers. I really like the culture in JYSK, and I am happy it is very much the same in Poland and in Greece, despite the fact that there is a very big difference between Polish people and Greek people in general,” explains Marzena and continues:
“The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Polish people is how polite and focused they are. But they also worry a lot. In Greece I just love that being friendly and smiling is a way of life.”
And if that is true, Marzena has found exactly the right place to work by welcoming customers in Gerakas with a big smile every day.
