Renovated JYSK store reopens in Ukraine one year after missile attack 

A year ago, the Riviera Shopping Centre was hit by a missile attack. In the shopping centre, which is located in the town of Fontanka in the Odesa region, there is also a JYSK store that was heavily damaged by the attack. 

On Thursday 11 May 2023, the JYSK employees could again welcome the customers inside, when the JYSK store reopened after extensive reconstruction. 

"It is a symbolic occasion that exactly one year after the devastating missile attack, we can reopen a completely rebuilt JYSK store in the Riviera Shopping Centre in Odesa. With this reopening, we are back to 85 open stores, which was the number before the war," says Ievgenii Ivanytsia, Country Director JYSK Ukraine.

The smallest JYSK store in the world opened in Hungary 

The smallest JYSK store so far opened in Budapest, Hungary. It is now part of the MiniPolisz family playhouse, where children can play in a scaled-down but fully constructed city. 

The "mini-city" is designed for 3-12-year-old children, and the purpose is for them to play and engage themselves in shopping, transportation, beauty care, or something the like. With the help of JYSK, they can now also try out interior designing and decorate the room according to their own ideas.

JYSK Ireland and JYSK Poland receive Best Employer awards 

JYSK Ireland has been granted a title as one of Irelands best employers. 

“JYSK Ireland has grown from one to 20 stores starting its journey in the most hectic times of COVID-19. We know that we are best, but being visible and noticed for the achievements, all the new workplaces, the stability in tomorrow’s day for our existing and potential employees is crucial. Standing among giants of different industries 150 companies in total is something that we are really proud of, and we will not stop there! This title is just a start,” says Anastasiia Kruta, HR Manager in JYSK Ireland & UK.

Once again, JYSK Poland was placed on the podium of the Forbes ranking, Best Employer of the year, taking second place in the retail industry. 

“It is a great pride and joy to be on this podium. We have nearly 300 stationary stores throughout Poland, an online store, and a huge distribution centre. All this is followed by the great commitment of thousands of employees,” says Sylwia Filimon, Communications Manager in JYSK Poland. 

Poland's Best Employers 2023 is a list of 300 companies operating in Poland that have been awarded the title of the best employer for outstanding achievements in the field of HR. The basis for the study was a list of approximately 1,900 brands employing at least 250 employees in Poland.

JYSK invites journalists to experience its garden assortment in Poland and Romania 

JYSK Garden Party in Poland was a unique promotional event, during which this season’s garden assortment was presented. The event was designed to inspire with home relaxation zones or meetings in gardens, balconies, and terraces. 

As something new, JYSK Poland invited external online creators as well as a group of JYSK employees – JYSK ambassadors. 

JYSK Romania also presented the new garden assortment during an event attended by over 60 journalists, bloggers, and influencers.  

Under the motto "Bring on the Good Times", the event took place at the Embassy of Denmark in Romania and presented the newest products for the garden and the two trends of 2023, BELONGING and RELEASE. 

E.S. The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in Romania, Mr. Uffe A. Balslev, welcomed the guests and encouraged them to discover the new JYSK garden assortment. 

JYSK Sweden opens its new head office 

On 25 May, the blue ribbon was cut and JYSK Sweden's new head office in Arlöv was officially opened. The office has been completely renovated and expanded and is now almost twice as large as before. 

“We have been waiting and longing for this day. Now we have a head office that is both stylish and optimal for the organisation's needs”, says Johan Sjödin, Country Director of JYSK Sweden & Finland.

JYSK employees gather for football tournaments in Romania and Denmark 

154 JYSK employees that love football attended the first edition of the JYSK Romania internal football championship, which was organised in Bucharest in May. 

For two days, colleagues from all over the country played 48 matches and scored almost 500 goals, while they were cheered on from the stands by their families and friends.  

More than 300 employees, their families, and suppliers from all over Denmark also gathered on a day off to attend the annual JYSK Denmark Retail Championship. 

It was a day filled with winner mentality, joy, and community.

Employees from JYSK Poland participate in Wings for Life World Run  

On Sunday 7 May 2023, a record number of 101 people from the JYSK Runners Club in Poland ran in Poznan during the Wings for Life World Run. 

JYSK runners managed to take 51st place among 14,682 teams in the world, covering 1,405 kilometres together. The total distance will also have an influence on how many square meters, on which to plant a new forest. 

The planting of the forest will take place in the fall of 2023 in a location chosen by the participants of the run.
