Roundup from countries: French cooperation, DC recruitment and biogas truck

Every now and then, we roundup recent events and activities from some of the JYSK countries. Check them out here.

Belgium & France

In Belgium and France, JYSK has launched a common District Manager Trainee (DMT) programme for French-speaking colleagues. The first module was organised in Gembloux, Belgium, at the end of May with seven participants: 4 from France and 3 from Belgium.

Czech Republic & Slovakia

Together with the association “Let’s give children a chance”, JYSK has helped furnish a second start-up apartment for young students, who have moved away from foster homes. JYSK has supported with furniture and homeware products – as well as assembly.

Denmark

In 2018, around 300 employees worked at Distribution Centre Uldum (DCU) – today they are almost 700 colleagues. To keep up with the development, Frede Jørgensen, Operation Manager at DCU, organised a recruitment day for new candidates – with an intro of JYSK, a tour of the DC, and job interviews in the end.

Italy

On 4 June, JYSK opened I172 in Zumpano, which is the second store in Calabria, a region in southern Italy. The opening shattered the previous sales record for an opening in Italy – and in fact doubled the result. Amazing!

Poland

In May, 20 colleagues from JYSK Poland joined a virtual edition of the “Wings for Life” run. Each person ran in their own location, but the JYSK team connected on Teams before the challenge to motivate each other.

JYSK Poland also received an award for the company’s active and responsible actions taken towards employees during the pandemic.

Sweden

At the end of June, the first JYSK delivery with a bio-gas-fueled truck was made from Distribution Centre Nässjö (DCN) to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

West Balkan

In Bosnia-Herzegovina, JYSK donated products to the institution PUŽ, which takes care of people with special needs (photo below). A similar activity happened in Slovenia, where JYSK donated products to the Association of Friends of Youth Trbovlje, so they could organise a summer camp for children and young people from the area.

Ukraine

JYSK Ukraine wants to ensure that old batteries are properly handled. Therefore they have put up collection stands in stores, where customers can easily discard of their used batteries.

Try on a (virtual) JYSK shirt with new Snapchat filter

- In January, Snapchat users in Denmark could see themselves wearing our blue JYSK shirt through the camera on their phone. As part of this year's apprentice campaign, Marketing and HR have developed a Snapchat filter that transforms you into a JYSK colleague.
