Update from our CEO: Thank you for participating in ESS
Dear colleagues,
First of all, thank you all very much for your participation in our Employee Satisfaction Survey (ESS).
97% of you used your right and duty to speak up, and although we don’t have the results yet, your input will help guide us on what we are doing great and what we can do even better. In the coming months, we will keep you informed about the results and what actions we will take.
Expansion continues
Looking at our business, we are halfway through FY24 and although we had a tough start to the year, our sales are on track with January being our best month together with November. We are also seeing an increase in the number of customers that shop in our stores and our mattress sales are doing really well. It is great to see how your efforts in the stores and DC’s are paying off so quickly.
Our expansion journey continues. We have chosen Morocco as our next country, and we expect to open our first stores in the spring of 2025. The new Country Director for Morocco will be Igor Raić. A big congratulations to Igor on this new opportunity.
We have also opened our third store in Türkiye in December and when we look at the number of customers who visited the new store in the first week, we can clearly see that JYSK is improving in the country.
Our focus areas
Although we are seeing good improvements in our sales, we are also up against some challenges. We still see that customers are holding back on spending money due to the fact that the cost of living is still high.
At the same time, our main competitors are communicating aggressively on price perception, and we need to win that battle. One of our weapons are our “EVERYDAY LOW PRICE” articles which we are working on making even more visible for our customers. We have also lowered a lot of prices to ensure even more GREAT offers.
On a personal note
This is my first update as President and CEO of JYSK. It has been very inspiring to visit stores around the world and meet so many of you in person on our field visits and I look forward to many more visits in the coming months.
I and my leadership team are very impressed by all your hard work and dedication to making JYSK a great place to work and to be customers’ first choice.
