From outdoor to indoor: Team efforts transform stores
Detailed planning and a team effort are factors that go into the seasonal transformations from outdoor to indoor assortment in all JYSK stores.
Twice a year, as we transition from summer to winter and vice versa, all stores undergo a big transformation. At this time of year, we make space for new arrivals within furniture, mattresses, home textiles, and homeware.
“A lot of planning is required before the transformation to ensure we have enough staff in the store so we can meet our deadlines. It’s a busy period where planning and teamwork are key,” says Mathias Christensen, Store Manager in JYSK Hadsten, Denmark.

The Space Management department is responsible for determining the location of all products in the stores. This ensures that we use all the space in the stores and arrange the products in relevant places.
The department also carefully designs the Visual Merchandising (VM) catalogue, which defines the designs of room setups, where every detail is considered.
The designed room setups are photographed and presented in the VM catalogue and sent to the stores, so all colleagues know exactly where and how to place the products.
“The aim of our VM catalogue is to present the products in the best possible way across all stores. It ensures that all stores have the same visual expression, regardless of which JYSK store you visit. This allows our colleagues to spend more time with customers, as they don’t need to create displays from scratch,” says Katrine Veggerby, Project & Team Leader, Space Management.
