JYSK Russia wins award for Best New Retailer

Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, JYSK expanded to Russia during 2020. Now, the entry in Russia has been rewarded with an award for Best New Retailer.

At the Global Retail Real Estate Awards in Russia, JYSK was awarded Best New Retailer of the Year 2020. Thereby, the expansion to Russia with first store opening in June 2020 now also has received international recognition.

The award was won in competition with brands such as “& Other Stories” (H&M Group brand) and Chizhik (X5 Retail Group) - a discount grocery chain, which opened 4 stores in the Moscow region in 2020.

“It means that we can be proud not only of the fact that we are customer-oriented, but also of the fact that we fulfill all the promises that we make to our employees,” says Natalya Ovcharenko, Store Manager in Altufyevo, Russia.

Best across 12 countriesAward

The Global Retail Real Estate Awards is an annual international professional award presented for achievements in the field of retail real estate and retail. An independent jury consisting of industry representatives appoints the nominees and winners.

The Award includes projects implemented in the 12 following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.

Store Manager in the future store in Otrada, Russia, Igor Alekseev, has been proud to be part of the entry of JYSK in Russia.

“The company and the team gave us confidence in the future. No one doubted that we would achieve our goals. This has been an irreplaceable, huge experience of working in rapidly changing circumstances and learning a lot along the way,” says Igor.
