From empty facilities to open stores: Behind the scenes at JYSK
They travel from store to store, assemble furniture faster than most, and ensure every store looks sharp and follows the concept. Meet JYSK’s E-Teams – the invisible heroes behind every store opening and renovation.

When JYSK opens, relocates, or renovates a store, it’s our E-Teams (Establishment Teams) who make it happen. They manage the process from start to finish, taking care of everything from furniture assembly to ensuring spotlights are correctly positioned and products are placed where they belong.
Last financial year, our E-Teams across all JYSK countries handled 148 new store openings and 303 other store activities.
One E-Team responsible for JYSK Denmark
In JYSK Denmark, the E-Team consists of eight employees responsible for building fixtures and assembling furniture in all 117 stores across the country.
“It’s great to visit so many JYSK stores and meet so many of my colleagues. I also really like our tasks, where our main job is to ensure the concept is followed and all store fixtures are placed correctly,” says Kathrine Cunningham Svejgaard, E-Team Member and former JYSK trainee.

Rebuilding after floods in Spain and support in Morocco
In Spain and Portugal, four E-Teams with three members each are responsible for a total of 204 stores – 33 in Portugal and 171 in Spain.
“We’ve had a busy and exciting year with many new openings and store improvements. In Valencia, we had a major task rebuilding two JYSK stores after the floods. We also sent team members to Morocco to help our colleagues set up their first JYSK stores,” says Carlos Quintero Calero, E-Team Leader in Spain and Portugal.

Major focus on rearrangements to Store Concept 3.0 in Poland
In Poland, two E-Teams with a total of 12 employees are responsible for over 330 JYSK stores. Last financial year, they carried out 49 store activities – including 27 rearrangements to the new Store Concept 3.0.
“For the past three years, we’ve focused heavily on converting all stores to the new Store Concept 3.0. Each rearrangement follows a detailed step by step agenda. Every store is different – some more challenging than others – but it’s our job to make sure the task is always completed,” says Dawid Kowalczyk, E-Team Leader in Poland.

Small E-Team with big responsibility in Romania
The Romanian E-Team consists of just three employees who receive external help for practical tasks but still hold full responsibility for the 158 stores in the country.
“Our E-Team are experts in how a JYSK store should be built. That’s why they’re responsible for assigning tasks to external workers and ensuring everything in the store is done exactly as it should be,” says Valentin Tanase, Store Activity Coordinator in Romania.
