JYSK Greece wins Business Champions Award
JYSK Greece has been honoured with the Greek Business Champions Award for its financial performance in previous years.
The award was received by the Country Director, Sandor Szimeiszter, who thanked the JYSK Greece team, saying:
“This recognition highlights the outstanding contributions of our incredible team and their commitment to excellence. This achievement inspires us to continue providing great products and an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.”
Honeybees have moved in at JYSK Head Office in Denmark
This summer, the Head Office welcomed new residents when two honeybee families moved into their beehives. Within every beehive, a community of approximately 10,000 honeybees’ work, and their golden, sweet honey will be ready to enjoy in the kitchen next summer.
Besides the introduction of honeybees, the Head Office has also undertaken other initiatives to contribute to the biodiversity in the local area. These initiatives include an herb garden, sedum coverings on the building roofs, and the planting of various trees, bushes and wildflowers.
JYSK Slovenia helped with donations and workforce during severe flooding
In early August 2023, Slovenia experienced heavy rainfall that resulted in severe flooding. On the first day of the natural disaster, JYSK Slovenia took action by organising donations of sleeping supplies which were sent to the heavily affected areas of Medvode and Menge. JYSK Slovenia also assisted in the field and helped wherever it was needed.
150 JYSK stores in Spain and Portugal
In the financial year 2022-2023, JYSK Spain and Portugal reached an important milestone with a total of 150 stores combined in the country organisation. The past two years have offered a great number of store openings in the two countries. However, JYSK Spain and Portugal does not intend to stop here.
Carlos Haba Ariza, the Country Director of JYSK Spain and Portugal, along with his colleagues in both countries, has set a new target of establishing 300 stores in Spain and 80 in Portugal.
“It is more or less easy to open more stores, but the difficult thing is to prepare the pipeline, to keep up the good performance in our stores and keep the engagement up during this kind of acceleration. We should do it in a smart way and not do expansion at any cost,” said Carlos previously.
“JYSK for my green city” visited Istria in Croatia
The first school day at Marčana Elementary school in Istria, Croatia, started out a little different this year, as JYSK continued its “JYSK for my green city” project.
Students, teachers and JYSK colleagues joined forces to make this project a reality. They decorated the school’s outdoor areas including a corner for students to socialise. “JYSK for my green city” is all about bringing people together and creating environmental awareness in the local community.
Now, thanks to the new Mediterranean garden, students and school employees can now enjoy their own green oasis in their backyard. For this project, JYSK supported with plants, garden benches, comfy beanbags to make it a relaxing space for everyone to enjoy.
