JYSK colleagues on new training camp
25 JYSK employees recently attended the new JYSK Sleep Academy in Thy in northwestern Denmark . Among the participants was Mads Gaarde, who obtained many new inputs for the daily store operations.
A combination of social events and professional input was characteristic for the first edition of JYSK Sleep Academy, where 25 Area Responsibles from Danish JYSK stores were gathered.
At the JYSK Sleep Academy, the participants are gathered for three sessions of three days that include both social activities and "hygge" as well as new professional insight and knowledge about JYSK products.
The first session was focused on mattresses, and it took place at the mattress supplier Hilding Anders. 30-year-old Mads Gaarde from Hvidovre was among the enthusiastic participants.
“I think it was a great event. I got a lot of new knowledge about mattresses and about how people sleep, and that is certainly something I can use when helping our customers. Furthermore, we had a really good time, and I feel even more as part of a family after getting to know more of my JYSK colleagues,” says Mads.
Even better customer service
He has no doubts that his stay in Thy will result in even better customer service back in the store in Hvidovre.
“I have learned more about the products, so I can ask the right questions to our customers and make sure that they leave the store with just the right product. I also got a lot of practical advice, which I can use during daily store operations, and my Store Manager immediately noticed the difference, once I returned to the store in Hvidovre,” explains Mads.
He is looking very much forward to participating in the remaining sessions of the JYSK Sleep Academy, which will focus on other product groups.
A New idea
HR Manager in JYSK Denmark, Lene Houe, is also looking forward to the next sessions. She was responsible for making the programme for JYSK Sleep Academy.
“All of the participants are chosen because of their great efforts, and the participation means a lot both to the individual employee and to the store they work in. Furthermore, it is important that the participants have a great time and return with new energy," says Lene.
The future events will take place in May and October.
