Store Manager Rick Goertz from The Netherlands has chosen to share a typical week in his life through pictures and short descriptions. Rick is working in a JYSK store in Houten.

MONDAy

We start the day with a team of three colleagues. During the morning kickoff, we agree that two of us will switch all the price tags. I begin with the duvets and pillows section. At the end of the day we can cross both tasks of our to-do list.

Monday

TUESDAY

Today is the National Store Manager day. We briefly look at the results from the past year and gather our ideas for how we can perform even better in our stores for the upcoming year. During the day we also participate in several workshops which give us a lot of inspiration and insight into how we can realise our ideas. It’s all about attitude!

Tuesday

WEDNESDAY

Today I set some time aside to help my colleague, Franklin, with some tasks for his study at the JYSK Academy. We sit in the store while studying, so we can always greet and help customers when needed.

Wednesday

THURSDAY

Thursday is freight day. Our goods arrive every Thursday from the distribution center in Uldum. Our target is to process the whole freight in one day, so that we on Fridays can present a fully stocked shop to our customers.

FRIDAY

The weekend starts on Friday, which is noticeable in the increased number of customers. During the morning, there are several small tasks that we need to complete, but in the afternoon and evening we are fully available to our customers.

This weekend I have arranged some days off to hang out with my friends. On Saturday, we went to a firework festival in Germany.

Today I went to the Zoo with my girlfriend to enjoy a day of relaxation. We were very curious to see the new giant panda exhibit in the park.
