Around the World: Donations for parasport athletes and Sleep Friendly Award

JYSK presents Czech para-cyclist with award

JYSK is sponsor of the parasport in the Czech Republic. In April 2023, the Paralympic Committee Awards 2022 took place, and JYSK had the honor as a partner to present the Rising Star Award to para-cyclist Pavlína Vejvodová.

JYSK’s Communications Manager of Czech Republic and Slovakia, Zuzana Rafajlovič, attended the gala dinner and handed the award winner a JYSK gift card.

JYSK receives Sleep friendly Company Award

JYSK in Hungary received the Sleep Friendly Company Award from the Hungarian Sleep Association. Country Director for Hungary, Austria and Greece, Sandor Szimeiszter, accepted the award on behalf of JYSK.

JYSK not only offers a wide range of products to help people sleep, but has also set up a special Sleep Academy, which has been training the sales employees since 2018 to help customers choose the right bed and accessories.

JYSK brought hygge to Belgrade

At the end of April, JYSK West Balkan organised a garden event in Belgrade, Serbia, for journalists and others to present our trends, new products and talk about the Danish concept of hygge. More than 50 guests enjoyed a hyggelig time in the Bioskop Balkan  location in the city centre.

Opening of canteen and education centre

In April, a new canteen for employees as well as an education centre was officially opened at JYSK’s distribution centre in Nässjö (DCN) in Sweden.

In the new education centre build above the canteen JYSK’s Retail organisation will conduct its future leadership trainings. In addition to new, larger conference rooms, there are also ten newly renovated overnight rooms.

“The new education centre will create even closer contact between Logistics and Retail, which is very positive,” says Annika Löfgren, Logistics Director, DCN.

Bring Dedication donation

JYSK is main sponsor of Parasport Denmark and has been so since 1989. In 2022, as a part of this sponsorship, JYSK introduced the Bring Dedication donation, which is awarded to selected para-athletes, who have shown special dedication.  

In March, the special donation was, among others, given to Para dressage rider Katrine Kristensen.

JYSK receives Logistics Development Award

JYSK’s distribution centre in Ecser (DCE) was awarded as Logistics Development of the Year 2023 by the Association of Hungarian Logistics Service Centres.

“The award recognises outstanding logistics developments, and the DCE has been honored as a unique facility in terms of size and technology," says Jaroslaw Sobczyk, Logistic Director of DCE, who accepted the award on behalf of JYSK.

DCE was inaugurated in 2022, and from 2023 it has been increasingly involved in the service of stores in four countries.

JYSK products for home of mothers

At the beginning of the year, JYSK opened its 102nd store in the Czech Republic in the city of Hradec Králové. At this occasion, JYSK launched a project to support the local community by donating products for a home for mothers and children in difficult financial situations. Tomáš Trutnovský, Store Manager of the new store, helped select the local charity.

"I am glad that we could contribute to furnish a home for mothers and their children. Our products will help where it is needed, and that makes me happy," he says.

The local charity organisation visited the store to meet Tomáš and JYSK’s Country Director, Peter Brányik.
