JYSK opens first stores in Türkiye
Continuing the expansion to new markets, JYSK will open its first two stores in Türkiye in the first week of May 2023.
Since JYSK opened its very first store in Denmark in 1979, the company has grown to include 3,200+ stores. Now, the Scandinavian home furnishing retailer is expanding to a new market in Türkiye.
On Thursday 4 May 2023, the first JYSK stores in Türkiye will welcome customers inside to a great Scandinavian offer within sleeping and living at the Istanbul shopping malls Torium AVM and Oasis Cadde.
“We look forward to bringing our great Scandinavian offers to the people of Türkiye. We have long wanted to expand our business further outside of Europe, and we see great potential for JYSK in the Turkish market. We strongly believe that our Scandinavian assortment will appeal to customers in Türkiye and as always, we will adapt parts of our assortment to match the local market,” says Jan Bøgh, President & CEO at JYSK.
The strong belief in the Turkish market is also reflected in an ambitious expansion plan for JYSK.
“Our first two stores are only the beginning of our expansion plans, as we see many opportunities for more JYSK stores in Türkiye,” says Jan Bøgh.
Strong business model
Of the total of 48 countries, 28 are operated directly by JYSK, while the remaining run on a franchise-based model.
“We have a strong business model that works well both in our own countries and for our franchisees. One of our biggest strengths is our small store concept, which makes it possible for us to be closer to customers and make their shopping experience as easy as possible,” says Jan Bøgh.
In addition to the physical stores, JYSK will also launch a webshop for Türkiye, which will offer customers an extended assortment with various delivery options to suit customer needs.
“We want our customers to have a seamless shopping experience with JYSK, no matter how or where they prefer to shop,” says Jan Bøgh.
