Winter Feelings at the Embassy of Denmark in Romania
In the middle of November, JYSK Romania invited ofer 100 journalists, bloggers and company partners to discover the winter sensations at the launch of our new Christmas collection during the “Winter Feelings” event.
“It’s an Indian summer”, said one of the employees of the Danish Embassy in Romania, while we were setting up the decorations and Christmas accesories in the Embassy yard. We wore T-shirts and carried elves, santas, snow globes, Christmas trees and lanterns that are all part of the Christmas decorations collection that JYSK prepared for the holidays season. In just a few hours, the interior of the Embassy was transformed into a home, ready for the holidays. A festive living room, bedroom and dining room gave the guests the feeling of staying at home, surrounded by a hygge ambiance in the company of their loved ones.
WINTER THROUGH ALL FIVE SENSES
In this set up, over 100 guests had the opportunity to exchange the indian summer we had outside with the magic winter that we prepared inside. They also experienced, with all their senses,the beauty of Scandinavian winters spent in the comfort of home. Three rooms were furnished and decorated completely with JYSK products, with emphasis on the Christmas collection.
We set up a corner where the guests could sense the Christmas aromas – oranges, cinnamon and mulled wine. We invited them to discover the various textures of our furniture and home textiles, from marble, glass and metal, to cotton, rattan, sequins and artificial fur. We played the sounds of fire burning in a fireplace and we offered them delicious foods inspired by winter.
MOST LOVED PRODUTCS
The visual part was, of course, the most interesing, because the entire space was filled with Christmas decorations. Among this year’s novelties, the guests loved the exotic accesories: MYSING ornament in the shape of a rainbow and a pink parrot and DURIN, the cute snow globe with two pink flamingos enjoying the snow.
The other favourites of the evening were the Christmas scenes – ELBAIT and GALDER – that reimagine two winter scenes, with children playing in the snow and snow covered fir trees, and the RAV lantern, which combines utility with the charm of a snow globe.

HOLIDAYS IN DENMARK
Søren Jensen, Ambassador of Denmark in Romania, hosted the event and spoke about the beauty of Danish Christmas:
“In Denmark, Christmas is more than anything a time of up-holding traditions. Families rejoice in customs covering the food we eat to the rituals for exchanging greetings and gifts. The JYSK collection with its yule-time setting of decorations and artefacts created a unique Christmas spirit, that I think everyone visiting the Embassy was moved by. It certainly felt like Danish Christmas to me!”

AN UNUSUAL PHOTO CORNER
One of the evening’s attractions was the photo corner, which this time was a little bit surprising. As JYSK is well known for the sleeping products that help customers have a good and healthy sleep, we prepared a bed decorated with Christmas cushions, so that our guests could take photos while testing the bed.
As the entire space offered many ideas for photos and was visually appealing, the guests transformed all three rooms in a photo studio. The Christmas tree, the day bed and the living room corners with sofas and armchairs were captured in hundreds of nice photos taken by our guests.
