Update from our CEO: Another great year for JYSK
More customers, many new stores and increasing turnover growth have made the financial year 2017/18 (FY18) another great year for JYSK Nordic.
Although it is only September, JYSK has already started a new year, and I am sure that all of you are busy making sure that FY19 will be as good as FY18.
Because FY18 was a great year.
The turnover of JYSK Nordic increased with 10 percent after currency adjustment to 16.1 billion DKK, we opened 82 new stores, and the number of customers increased with 6.7 million to well over 64 million.
This is a great development, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your hard work and dedication, which has made this great result possible.
Huge opportunities ahead
However, we are far from done.
Although 64 million customers is a high number, a look at the map shows that there are 290 million inhabitants in the countries where JYSK Nordic has stores.
This presents a huge opportunity for us, and we should not be satisfied until all households shop in JYSK at least once a year either in one of our physical stores or online.
This is of course not something we can achieve from one day to the next, and it will demand hard work from all of us. Furthermore, it is important to evaluate how JYSK is run today and have a strategy on how to become even more successful in the future.
Developing and implementing a new strategy for JYSK is one of the things I look forward to working with in the new financial year.
Of course to get input from all parts of JYSK to make the best possible strategy, but even more so to see the strategy come alive in every JYSK store, distribution centre and office around the world.
This is something you will hear much more about as the strategy is developed.
For now, you should all take pride in the great results we have achieved in FY18, and the fact that JYSK keeps growing and attracting even more customers.
