In the beginning of July, history was written as we reached 1 billion DKK in online turnover within one financial year.
Even though there are still two months left of the financial year, JYSK has already reached a historic milestone concerning online sales.
This happened in week 27, when JYSK for the first time ever reached an online turnover of 1 billion DKK within a financial year, excluding click and collect.
“We have seen a very nice growth in online sales on all markets, so everybody has really contributed to this achievement,” says E-Commerce Sales Manager, Sarah Melgaard Johansen.
But even though all countries can check off on increased online sales, there is still a big difference in the online share of sales, with JYSK in the UK having the biggest share, JYSK in the Netherlands on second place, while the newest member of our team, JYSK Ireland, has the third biggest share in online sales.
Regarding products, it is the larger items that are most important online.
“We see a big difference from stores to online, when it comes to product mix. Furniture and mattresses have a much bigger share online. However, the stores also play an important role in online sales, as many people will visit a store to see or test products during the customer journey, and then finish the order online,” says Sarah.
Besides generating 1 billion DKK in turnover, JYSK’s country websites had 225 million visitors seeking inspiration before hopefully visiting a physical store.
