JYSK opens in Russia
On 3 June 2020, JYSK will open the company’s first store in Russia, when customers are welcomed in the store in Trojka, Moscow.
During the summer, JYSK will open additionally three stores in Russia.
“I am really happy that we are now able to open our first store in Russia. The opening was originally planned for 2 April, but this was not possible due to the restrictions caused by coronavirus. Unfortunately, the ongoing threat of the virus also means that the country opening will take place without the kind of celebrations we normally associate with a country opening. That will have to wait until current restrictions are lifted, and then we will of course celebrate with our Russian customers,” says Executive Vice President Retail in JYSK, Mikael Nielsen.
The store in Trojka Moscow is one of four stores planned to open in the Russian capital during the summer, and Country Manager for JYSK in Russia, Igor Raić, is looking very much forward to welcoming customers into the store.
“We were really looking forward to open the first stores in April, and we had been working very hard to make everything ready. Fortunately, now it looks like we will finally be able to welcome customers to our stores – of course within all the corona rules and regulations, as the safety of our customers and employees is our first priority,” says Igor Raić.
Like all of his colleagues he was also looking forward to a great opening party, but he ensures that the opening will be a great experience for the customers, even though it will differ from a classic country opening.
“On Tuesday, we will have an internal launch just for employees and a few guests. Also just to make sure that everything is working as it should. Then on Wednesday, we will have a silent opening to the public, and we of course hope to see some customers despite the corona situation,” says Igor Raić.
