Iryna Kartun, Sales Manager for JYSK Ukraine, celebrates her 20th anniversary and reflects on two decades of growth and development.

Iryna Kartun’s career journey at JYSK:

  • 2004–2006: Sales Assistant

  • 2006–2007: Sales Leader

  • 2007–2013: Store Manager

  • 2013–2020: Sales Coordinator

  • 2020–Today: Sales Manager

JYSK Ukraine marked 20 years anniversary on 3 October, a milestone that Iryna Kartun has been part of almost since day one. Today, on 22 October, she celebrates her 20-year anniversary herself.

Iryna began her career in 2004 as a Sales Assistant where she played a key role in establishing JYSK’s presence in Ukraine and contributing to the opening of the first stores in the country.

“I never expected to stay with JYSK for so many years, but time flies, and now I’ve been working here for half of my life. It’s incredible to think about. Initially, I planned to work at JYSK while finishing my studies, but then it became my second home. I’ve grown both personally and professionally, and that has made me a better version of myself,” says Iryna.

From Ukraine to Denmark

In 2007, she became a Store Manager, and later in 2013 Sales Coordinator. In 2020, she experienced a major turning point when she was offered the role as Sales Manager for JYSK Ukraine. This new position also came with a move to JYSK Head Office in Denmark – a significant change that Iryna embraced.

“It was a big change, but I was fortunate to have supportive colleagues. I loved working with my team in Ukraine, and I feel the same about my close colleagues at the head office today. They helped me settle in Denmark, not just professionally but also by assisting me with finding an apartment and organising my new life here,” says Iryna.

Iryna has now lived in Aarhus, Denmark, for four years and has settled in well. She tries to visit Ukraine at least once a year to see her friends and family, and she hopes to visit more often in the future.
