In April, JYSK employees planted 10,000 trees in Medvednica Nature Park in Croatia to increase focus on the need for healthy forests.

As part of a CSR project called "Do not save on the forest!", JYSK Croatia helped plant 10,000 beech wood seedlings in Medvednica Nature Park in Zagreb, Croatia.

The money for the forest project was raised through JYSK's sale of 50% recycled plastic bags. Many JYSK employees took part in the action together with their families.

"We gathered our volunteers from JYSK, together with other citizens, to plant 10,000 beech wood seedlings donated by JYSK as part of the project. We renewed the area in parts of Medvednica Nature Park, which had been destroyed by storms in recent years. Besides our financial support for the project, we are happy that our own employees are so engaged in a project designed to make life better for the coming generations," said Vesna Kukić Lončarić, Country Manager for JYSK Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

Despite the cold weather, the forest event drew a lot of locals interested in the conservation of the environment. Among more than 100 volunteers was chief editor of the magazine National Geographic, Hrvoje Prćić, and famous singer, Mirela Priselac Remi.

The project was carried out in cooperation with certified FSC partner in Croatia, Hrvatske šume.
