At the press conference held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Pohorje (Slovenia), JYSK presented a new socially responsible project "JYSK Bedtime Story" which aims to equip seven Slovenian resorts with products for sleeping. The first donation was made for the House of Miloš Zidanšek, where 70 top quality mattresses were delivered.
The project partner is a non-governmental, voluntary and non-profit organization Zveza prijeteljev mladine Slovenije that has been providing families with organized summer and winter vacations in resorts throughout Slovenia for decades.
Ivan Protega, Retail Manager, JYSK for Slovenia and Serbia, explained why the project started with a donation to the House of Miloš Zidanšek: “Synergy and care for the local community is our way of doing business. That is why we are developing socially responsible projects with special enthusiasm, and we are particularly happy to work on long-term projects in which children are involved. We remember pleasant and happy stays in resorts and create memories that will last forever, and our idea of the "JYSK Bedtime Story" project makes this possible. "
An organization that aims to improve the quality of life
Through researches, Zveza prijatelja mladine Slovenije has estimated that as many as half of children in Slovenia remain at home during school holidays and therefore they believe that the need for organized vacations is growing. This organization includes in its programs children whose parents do not have the opportunity to take their children on summer/winter vacations - due to lack of time or financial reasons, and makes special efforts to organize summer and winter vacations for children from socially disadvantaged families and children with special needs at Zveza resorts for free.
House of Miloš Zidanšek in Pohorje - the house that received the first donation.
Each year more than 6000 children aged 6 to 17 visit this resort in which certain pieces of furniture and sleeping equipment have not been replaced since its opening in 1988. The house has 16 rooms with 70 beds equipped with ten-year-old sleeping products. Since JYSK believes that a good vacation begins with a good sleep, all beds have been equipped with new high-quality mattresses that will allow children to sleep peacefully and provide strength for all activities and the creation of wonderful memories.
