The mayor of Hedensted, Kasper Glyngø, smiled before abseiling down from the top of the high bay.

Accompanied by students from the educational institution Business Academy Southwest, the Mayor of Hedensted, Kasper Glyngø, was in charge of loading the pallet, which marked the official inauguration of highbay 4 at JYSK's distribution center in Uldum.

Afterwards the mayor got a great overview of the new facilities from the top of the new high bay before abseiling down from the top like a Danish James Bond.

”It was a great experience. It is not every day I get the chance to pretend to be Tom Cruise or Sylvester Stallone,” said Kasper Glyngø with a smile once he had both feet back on the ground.

On a more serious note, he underlined the importance of JYSK for the Hedensted area.

”We have always been proud that JYSK has chosen Uldum for the Danish distribution center. JYSK has contributed considerably to the development of the area, and the cooperation between JYSK and the city council has always been great. My hope is that the expansion of the distribution center and the additional jobs created will mean that more people will decide to live in the area,” said Kasper Glyngø.

Focusing on the future

EVP Logistics in JYSK, Allan K. Kjærgaard, took the opportunity to thank the approximately 40 students from Business Academy Southwest, who participated in the inauguration and experienced how the new high bay looks from 40 metres up.

”I hope that today will be a great experience, which for some will hopefully also be the first step on a journey towards a career in JYSK. We will need a lot of skilled employees for the future, and the expansion of our distribution center here in Uldum is of course also an important indication of our commitment to Uldum and the Hedensted area,” said Allan K. Kjærgaard.

After the trip to the top of the high bay, mayor Kasper Glyngø and the students had sausages, which is a Danish tradition when inaugurating or celebrating new buildings.
