JYSK celebrates 150 stores in Romania

The 150th JYSK store in Romania was inaugurated in Mamaia Nord, Constanța, with a festive event and great offers.

JYSK Mamaia Nord is a very special store. It represents an important milestone in JYSK's expansion, being the 150th store in Romania, and it is also the most beautifully located store in Romania. The building which hosts the new store has large windows and is shaped like a boat that overlooks a lake. Previously, the building, located on the shore of Lake Siutghiol, just a few steps from the Black Sea coast, housed an event hall where concerts, weddings, parties or cultural performances took place.

A very special day

The store was officially inaugurated on a rainy morning in March. Customers were greeted with music, balloons, chocolate, and coffee, a photo booth to capture their visit to the store, and, of course, excellent opening offers, which they took advantage of from the early hours.

The special guest of the event was the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Romania, H.E. Uffe A. Balslev, who, together with Alex Bratu, Country Director JYSK Romania and Bulgaria, officially opened the store and symbolically cut the ribbon inscribed with this important number: 150.

"I am really thrilled to be here and to join you at the opening of the 150th JYSK shop in Romania. I am so happy to see how Danish furniture, Danish culture, and the Scandinavian housing culture and design are brought to Romania. 150 stores is really something and it shows how interested Romanians are in what JYSK is bringing to Romania," said H.E. Uffe A. Balslev, Ambassador of Denmark to Romania.

The most popular product categories on the opening day were indoor furniture and garden furniture, and the top-selling products were dining chairs, lounge sets, and desks.

Constructive emotions

For Luminița Diciu, Store Manager of the new JYSK Mamaia Nord store, this was the second important moment in JYSK's history in Romania that she took part in. She was also Store Manager of the 100th store, which, coincidentally, was inaugurated in the same city 4 years ago.

"The team was very excited, especially because it was the first opening where we also had a B2B event and because we are store number 150. Customers were delighted that it is easier for them to reach a JYSK store, now that we cover this part of the city as well. They filled their shopping carts, especially since we had great offers on the opening. I had fewer emotions than at the inauguration of the 100th store because I had already gone through an important event, but the emotions were still present for me and my team, and they were more constructive," said Luminița Diciu, who also celebrated her birthday on the same day.

The next important goal in JYSK's expansion is to reach 200 stores in Romania.
