1,535 pillows unlock new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™
1,535 pillows were laid out on the top of the Tempodrom in Berlin, forming the longest line of pillows in the world. This earned JYSK a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title.
1,535 pillows: The longest pillow line in the world
To complete a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt, more than 1,400 pillows had to be arranged in a line. Each pillow had to touch its neighbour, and the line could not cross at any point.
On 18 January 2024, more than 1,200 JYSK employees gathered at the Tempodrom in Berlin to write JYSK history with a new record attempt - a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt.
“With this record attempt, we want to show that we at JYSK know no limits, and that anything you set your mind to can be possible,” says Christian Schirmer, Country Director in JYSK Germany.
All hands on deck!
Some of the assembled colleagues got to work on top of the building, and it was clear to see that everyone was engaged in activity, creating a perfect line of pillows. Within 40 minutes, 1,535 pillows were laid out, and the record attempt was completed with success.
The official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, Seyda Subasi-Gemici who had specifically travelled from Türkiye for the record attempt, gave the green light on-site after carefully inspecting the pillow line.
JYSK is now the official holder of a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the world’s longest line of pillows, and the certificate resides in JYSK’s Regional Head Office in Handewitt, Northern Germany.
