“First and foremost, we had ambition. If you don’t have ambition, it is mission impossible.”
This is the recipe for setting new JYSK records, according to Country Manager in Bulgaria and Romania, Alexandru Bratu. He and his colleagues in JYSK Romania set a new record when they opened yet another new store in the country on 5 May 2016.
During its opening week, the store in the town of Timisoara had 9,000 customers and a turnover of 322,358 euro. This puts Romania at the top of the list of successful store openings at JYSK.
“We analysed our store openings from the last two years, and we could see that there were several areas where we could improve,” explains Alexandru about the work towards the opening.
Focus on the advertising paper, which was distributed throughout the entire town, loads of special offers on products in stock and extra JYSK colleagues to serve the customers were among the essential ingredients in the recipe for success.
“There were loads of preparations, but we tried to make everything look as smart as possible and listen to the customers. Looking at it from the customer’s perspective helped us really much,” says Alexandru.
