JYSK and Lars Larsen Group donate 1 million kroner to cancer research
As part of our support for cancer research, JYSK and Lars Larsen Group are donating 1 million kroner to the Danish Cancer Society, which has just held its annual fundraising show Knæk Cancer for the 14th time in collaboration with TV2.
According to the Danish Cancer Society, one in three Danes will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 75, while two out of three will become relative to someone affected by the disease.
Although cancer research continues to make significant progress in the fight against the illness, there remains an urgent need for further studies into what cancer is, and how it can be prevented and cured.
“We are proud to continue supporting the Danish Cancer Society in the fight against cancer. It is a serious illness affecting nearly everyone, either personally or through someone close,” says Rami Jensen, President & CEO of JYSK.
“Knæk Cancer is an important cause to us, as our founder Lars Larsen sadly passed away from cancer in 2019. We are honoured to play a part in raising awareness and supporting the ongoing efforts in cancer research,” he adds.
Knæk Cancer has enabled 547 projects over the years, focusing on research, prevention, and patient support.
Here is where the Knæk Cancer funds will go in 2025:
This year, the Danish Cancer Society has identified eight key areas that may receive support from the funds raised:
- The Children's Cancer Foundation
- Immunotherapy
- Cancer risk and prevention
- Young and talented cancer researchers
- New innovative technologies and treatments
- Integrated health interventions
- Support for relatives and families
- Social inequality in health behaviour and risk factors
