The new Logistics Director’s goal is to build a committed team and an even more flexible logistics operation.
David Pap-Albert joined JYSK on 5 May 2025, and from 1 August, he will officially take over the leadership of JYSK’s Distribution Centre in Ecser (DCE), Hungary. The former Logistics Director, Jaroslaw Sobczyk, will be moving to JYSK’s Distribution Centre in Lelystad (DCL) in the Netherlands.
The two directors will work together during the summer to ensure a smooth transition.
Team spirit rooted in sports
"I was a professional football player until the age of 23, and even then, I believed in teamwork. After that, I entered the world of logistics and spent nearly three years as Group Operation Manager at TNT Express in London," David explains.
In 2013, he joined Decathlon's logistics centre in Hungary as Transport Manager, overseeing transport operations in Eastern Europe. From 2016, he served as Head of Logistics and Transportation.
Over the past decade, he has not only deepened his knowledge in freight and warehouse logistics but also strengthened his skills in people management and coaching.
JYSK brings the challenge he was waiting for
"I’ve always enjoyed working in international teams. Besides that, I found JYSK’s philosophy very appealing. The modern distribution centre serving multiple countries was a major draw – it’s a great opportunity and an exciting challenge,” David says.
At JYSK, David aims to build a committed team that enjoys coming to work every day. At the same time, he is focused on ensuring that DCE remains flexible and adaptable to market challenges while maintaining high service levels for both stores and online customers.

he person behind the leader
Outside of work, David is a devoted family man: “I live just outside Budapest with my wife and our one-year-old son. Our mornings usually start among Duplo bricks. For the rest of the day, I build goals.”
He loves travelling with his family, discovering new cultures, and drawing inspiration from different perspectives. He’s also passionate about darts and playing the guitar – these days mostly children's songs, though Guns N’ Roses still makes an appearance.
“I believe in focused work, human connections, and that playfulness is not just child’s play – even in the business world,” says David.
