Crack Cancer support

For the 12th year in a row, the Danish Cancer Association hosts the national fundraising show “Knæk Cancer” (“Beat Cancer”). JYSK and Lars Larsen Group will donate DKK 1 million to the cause.

According to the Danish Cancer Association, one in three Danes are diagnosed with cancer, and every day 43 people die from the disease. And although it is possible for more and more people to survive a cancer diagnosis today, there is still an urgent need for more research and knowledge about the disease.

“Cancer is an awful disease and one that no one should fight alone. Unfortunately, it touches the lives of many of us. We have either lost loved ones to the disease or we know someone who is fighting cancer right now. This cause also means a lot to us because our founder and chairman, Lars Larsen, sadly passed away from cancer in 2019. We are therefore honoured to be able to support ‘Knæk Cancer 2023’, aiming to help further research opportunities and support for patients and their families,” says President & CEO of JYSK, Rami Jensen.

Over the last decade, the fundraising from “Knæk Cancer” has supported 466 projects within research, prevention, and patient support. This year, the Danish Cancer Association has chosen six project areas to which the money raised from “Knæk Cancer” 2023 will go. They are, among others, the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation, cancer research and treatment, and support for cancer patients and their families.
