JYSK Morocco is now open – how did the first week go?

Opening JYSK’s first stores in Morocco was not just about launching a new market – it was the result of dedication, teamwork, and commitment.

It may have been just a small ribbon-cutting, but for Store Manager, Badr Naciri, the opening of one of Morocco’s first JYSK stores meant much more.  

“The opening day was truly special and filled with excitement. We had a great turnout of customers who were curious to discover what we had to offer. It was a fantastic feeling to open the store,” says Badr. 

When commenting on what the Moroccan customers preferred to buy during the opening days, five product categories stood out. 

“Garden sets, mattresses, and towels have been very popular, as well as our storage solutions and home decor. Many of the customers were pleasantly surprised by the quality, design, and price level we offer,” says Badr.

We made history  

Zineb Tahri, Sales and Marketing Manager in Morocco, has been working on the opening since August 2024.  

“For me, the opening was a big release. After 9 months of preparation, we delivered some great opening days. We were well prepared, and the feedback from customers has been very positive,” says Zineb and continues: 

“I felt joy, nervousness, even doubt in the week before the openings. But seeing the line of customers outside, curious to see our products and great offers, made everything worth it. We made history in Africa, and I am so proud.

Busy all week 

For Country Director, Igor Raić, the opening was both a big relief and a proud moment. 

“From the moment we opened, the stores were busy all week. We did quite well in terms of turnover and number of customers. Some products are already sold out, which is a great sign in terms of interest in our products, but now we need to focus on restocking and keeping up the momentum, so that we always have great offers ready,” says Igor Raić.
