Distribution Centre Bozhurishte is ready to go online
At DC Bozhurishte in Bulgaria, many hands have been working hard in the past few months to be able to deliver customer purchases from JYSK’s online world.
The past couple of months have been demanding and hectic in Bozhurishte, but now the distribution centre is in the final phase of launching its online delivery activities.
In August, the first warehouse workers went to the DC in Radomsko, Poland, to get trained and gain an insight into the procedures connected to online distribution.
“We can really benefit from that, so our colleagues here don’t have to start from the very beginning,” emphasises Operation Manager Allan Jonassen.
All the racks and machines were already installed in August. However, before going live with online distribution in Bulgaria this week, both smaller and larger tests had to be carried out in the past three weeks.
Optimistic perspectives for the future
After going live in Bulgaria with home delivery and OOPUS (order online, pick-up in store), other countries will follow into the online delivery world of JYSK.
Allan is optimistic about the performance in the DC. As opposed to other distribution centres, there is only one system for online delivery instead of two.
“This should make the processes more seamless and easier,” says the Operation Manager.
Allan points out the learning process the entire team has gone through so far. He is particularly thankful for the efforts every participant put into the project from the very first day:
“I think we have a great team and we will succeed and get to the goal.”
