JYSK in Greece won an internal competition, and the employees have chosen to donate part of the prize to vulnerable children.
The Greek JYSK team was among the winners of November's big, internal Black Friday competition. Greece was one of the countries that achieved the biggest growth on the international shopping day.
But a group of vulnerable Greek children will also benefit from the winning as the JYSK colleagues have chosen to donate part of the prize to a Greek charity named "The smile of the child", which since 1996 has helped Greek children in difficult situations.
"Every day we see sad stories on TV about children living in poverty. We all agreed that it would be good if JYSK could help – even a little," says Kostas Dimopoulos, Sales & Marketing Manager for JYSK in Greece.
Furniture for children's garden
Since November, the Greek colleagues have saved part of their prize so that now when spring has arrived, they can give "The smile of the child" a garden set, which the organisation has long been missing for their home for orphans.
With the garden furniture, the children can now enjoy the spring sun in the garden, which has otherwise been empty.
"Our garden set looks beautiful when you see it in our nice environmental photos, but I have the feeling that it looks even better in the small garden where it benefits the children," says Kostas.
