Well over 1.200 people visited the annual charity fair at JYSK´s distribution center in Radomsko raising more than 240.000 PLN (57.000 EUR) for charity.

As one of the biggest employers in the community, JYSK Distribution Center Radomsko is important to the local area.

This means taking responsibility, and one of the ways to do that is by having an annual charity fair to raise money for people in need.

“We believe that support given to local initiatives builds a stronger local community, supports its development, and adds courage in looking ahead”
- Paulina Rutowicz, HR Business Partner at JYSK.

On June 10th 2017, JYSK Distribution Center Radomsko held a charity fair for the sixth time, and once again a lot of people visited to support charity and make a good deal.

“At Radomsko we have a number of products, which are fine to use but for different reasons are not suited to be sold in the stores. These are the products which are sold during the charity fair. This means that a lot of local people can make a good deal and support charity while doing it, as the money they pay goes directly to different Polish charity projects supported by JYSK,” explains HR Business Partner in JYSK, Paulina Rutowicz.

Boosting team spirit

The preparations began several weeks before the event, and involved more than 100 employees voluntaring to help, which is also great for boosting team spirit.

“The fair is something that a lot of my colleagues are really looking forward to. They have a great day, and help people at the same time. There is no doubt the annual charity is an activity which we would like to continue to arrange for many years to come,” says Paulina Rutowicz.

Exactly how the money from the charity fair will be distributed has not yet been decided. Funds from the fair in 2016 supported creation of a rehabilitation center for disabled children, the purchase of medical equipment in the District Hospital and the organization of winter holidays for children.

“We believe that support given to local initiatives builds a stronger local community, supports its development, and adds courage in looking ahead,” says Paulina Rutowicz.
