JYSK Serbia partners with Novak Djokovic Foundation to help school children
JYSK Serbia decided to collaborate in a project with the foundation of the world famous tennis player Novak Djokovic and donate furniture for schools worth the value of almost 20,000 Euros.
In JYSK, we want to take a social responsibility for our society. That is seen in our sponsorships of parasport in many countries as well as donations to good causes all over the world.
Recently, JYSK Serbia partnered with the Novak Djokovic Foundation for a project called Drugarijada where JYSK donated products worth almost 20,000 EUR (or 2,102,738 DIN, to be precise). As the name of the foundation indicates, it is the foundation of the world famous tennis player Novak Djokovic, who has won 17 Grand Slam titles.
The foundation has only had a few partnerships with companies, as the foundation has very strict criterias for partners regarding corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. Therefore, the partnership is also seen as a recognition of the work, JYSK does.
90,000 children out of school
The products were donated to schools in Serbia, where around 90,000 children are unable to attend preschool. The products were mainly office chairs, desks, chairs and book shelves.
“We believe that an investment in schools is an investment that will give us the greatest possible return: healthy, productive adults who will contribute in positive ways to society. That is why we supported the project as a partner and equipped school facilities,“ says Vesna Kukić Lončarić, Country Manager West Balkan.
