JYSK Ukraine celebrates 15th anniversary
On 10 September 2019, JYSK colleagues across Ukraine gathered in the capital of Kiev for a huge celebration of the company’s 15th anniversary. More than 550 employees participated in the party, which was held for all employees for the first time.
All stores in Ukraine were closed on 10 September and the day was dedicated to celebrating the 15th anniversary of JYSK Ukraine. The theme for the celebration was festival of festivals and there were for example a wine and cheese festival, sport festival, circus festival, food festival and Oktoberfest.
“This was something unbelievable. Our colleagues were excited and the atmosphere at the party was festive, friendly and relaxed. Our colleagues were happy and full of energy to go for new accomplishments,” says Country Manager for JYSK Ukraine, Ievgenii Ivanytsia.
JYSK Ukraine 15th anniversary
- More than 550 JYSK employees in Ukraine participated in the celebration.
- All stores in Ukraine were closed on 10 September, and adjustments were made in the stores’ opening hours the day before and after to make sure that everyone could participate in the party.
- JYSK opened the first store in Ukraine on 29 October 2004 as a Franchise concept.
- Since October 2012, the stores in Ukraine have been operated by JYSK.
- As of 1 September 2019, JYSK has 54 stores in Ukraine.
A number of activities were also planned before the party, for example #JYSKdancechallenge. A few funny dance moves were developed and visualised on posters for the stores and the Head Office to urge the employees to repeat the moves on video.
One big team
It was the first time ever for JYSK Ukraine to gather all employees for a party, and to Country Manager Ievgenii, the party was very valuable.
“For us this is an opportunity to show our employees that they are part of a huge team. And it is an opportunity to meet all of our colleagues in person. I was personally extremely happy to see familiar faces at the party and to see the attitude of everyone - mutual respect, happiness and that everyone was proud of the company, their colleagues and their dedication,” says Ievgenii.
JYSK colleagues from the Head Office in Brabrand also participated in the celebration including Mikael Nielsen, Executive Vice President Retail, and geese figurines were handed out to the employees who could celebrate their 15th anniversary. Other JYSK countries and Jan Bøgh, President and CEO, had also filmed small video greetings, which were shown at the party.
