On Thursday 29 August, JYSK is setting a new record for the number of store openings. No less than 11 new stores will welcome customers on this single day.

Expansion has always been part of JYSK’s DNA, and this is visible every month when JYSK opens new stores across the world.

Although JYSK is used to many store openings, this month’s record of 11 stores in one day impresses Mikael Nielsen, who is Executive Vice President Retail.

Store openings on 29 August 2019

  • Ukraine: VictoryPlaza, Krivyi Rih and Auchan, Lviv
  • Romania: Zarnesti
  • Czech Republic: Rakovník
  • Greece: Kozani and Alimos, Athens
  • Bulgaria: Gabrovo
  • Norway: Finnsnes
  • Poland: Chorzów and Gdańsk
  • Sweden: Flen

“A store opening requires a lot of hard work both in the stores, at head offices and at our distribution centres. Right now is a very busy period for us as many are on holiday and we are getting ready for a new season in the stores. Yet our colleagues continue to work hard and collaborate to get the stores ready for opening. I am very proud of our colleagues and thankful for their efforts,” says Mikael.

With the 11 new stores, even more customers will get the opportunity to shop in a nearby JYSK store. And JYSK will continue to get even closer to customers in the future.

“Every time we open a new store, we cultivate our JYSK values, and I am very much looking forward to opening many more stores and setting new records in the coming financial year,” says Mikael.

The 11 stores open in eight different countries: Ukraine, Romania, Czech Republic, Greece, Bulgaria, Norway, Poland and Sweden.

In total JYSK will open 19 stores during that week.
