Quality, safety, and responsible sourcing are key to JYSK’s sustainability strategy to provide a great offer for generations.

JYSK collaborates with a global network of suppliers. To ensure responsible sourcing, we work with clear policies, certifications, and international memberships that set standards for suppliers and provide transparency for customers.

“Certifications create a shared language with suppliers and help ensure that legal, safety, and sustainability requirements are met across borders,” says Lars Ringtved Nielsen, Compliance and Quality Director at JYSK.

“This helps ensure that the products arriving in our stores meet expectations from both our customers and from JYSK,” he adds.

Below is an overview of the main certifications and memberships JYSK works with today.

JYSK certifications and memberships

FSC N001715

Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™ N001715)

As of January 2025, JYSK reached its goal of securing FSC™ certification for all newly sourced products containing wood or other forest-based materials. This certification shows that wood and forest-based materials come from responsibly managed forests or other controlled sources.

Better Cotton Initiative MembershipBetter Cotton Initiative™ Membership (BCI)

JYSK is a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). The global initiative unites stakeholders to improve cotton farming practices for people, the environment, and the sector’s future.

The BCI logo is not visible on JYSK products,  but all products containing a minimum of 80% textile must either be recycled, organic, or come from the BCI mass balance system*, where the majority of our cotton is from.

*Our sourcing of mass balance means that Better Cotton is not physically traceable to end products. However, Better Cotton farmers benefit from the demand for Better Cotton in equivalent volumes to those we source.

OEKO TEXOEKO‑TEX® STANDARD 100

The comprehensive OEKO‑TEX® STANDARD 100 testing criteria are based in science and stay ahead of global regulations.

The label validates that textiles containing 80% textile or more do not contain harmful substances in concentrations considered harmful to human health.

Global Recycled StandardGlobal Recycled Standard (GRS)

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) verifies that certified products contain verified recycled materials. The GRS logo is not visible on JYSK products, but products with recycled content are certified.

By 2030, JYSK aims for textile products containing 80% textile or more to include 40% recycled materials, as defined with the Danish sector collaborations.
