Roundup from countries: Afterski, new office and Black Friday
Every now and then, we roundup recent events and activities from some of the JYSK Nordic countries. Check them out here.
Ukraine
For Black Friday, the JYSK store in Poltava, Ukraine, set a goal not to miss any potential customers. The store team rented a city trolley bus, decorated it with Black Friday posters, put a “goose mascot” inside, and drove it through the city to gather everyone who wanted to go to the JYSK store.
Inside the trolley bus, energetic music and peptalks by the store's Sales Leader created a great spirit for the customers. The JYSK colleagues also ran several competitions for customers, so they got to know more about JYSK’s history and assortment.
Ireland/UK
The new Store Managers for JYSK Ireland had a great time training with their colleagues in the UK to get ready for the opening in April. Here they are visiting the first 3.0 store in Doncaster. From left: Slobodanka Subic, Maria Sirotkina and Evan Walsh, who are three out of the four new Store Managers in Ireland. (The fourth Store Manager in Ireland is Mads Degn.)
Denmark
1,600 colleagues from stores, distribution centre and head office in Denmark were gathered in the city of Odense to be part of the annual employee party. The theme for the night was afterski, which meant that they all were drinking ice-cold beers and dancing on the tables in skiwear. To make it possible for everybody to participate, all the Danish stores were closed the day after the party.
Romania
In November, Alex Bratu, Country Manager for JYSK Romania & Bulgaria, visited Stanisesti village which is part of UNICEF's Community-based Child Services pilot programme.
He met the children that benefit from this programme, visited the day care centre and school, and met two families who received support under this programme. JYSK Romania has supported the programme since 2017.
Finland
The pension insurance company, Ilmarinen, selected JYSK as one out of five finalists from 68,000 companies for best employee welfare in Finland. The criteria for the finalists were that they have been making good results in employee welfare, systematic and persistent work to reduce sick absence, and improving the employee working ability.
On the picture you see Country Manager in Finland, Ville Velin, and HR Manager in Finland, Leena Saario, who received the recognition of JYSK's work.
Ukraine
The head office in Ukraine has been renewed with real Scandinavian comfort for employees - of course using JYSK's owsn assortment.
The main idea behind the new office is to create a Scandinavian atmosphere, so employees feel a connection to the Danish style and roots of the company. The style is related to JYSK's new trends: The Thinker, Human Nature and Creative Mind.
