Store number 100 sets record in JYSK Hungary
On 24 October 2024, JYSK made history in Hungary with the opening of its 100th store in Debrecen, eastern Hungary – not only was it a historic opening, it also turned out to be a record-breaking new store opening in terms of turnover.
Opening day turnover record, long lines, and customer turnout beyond expectations marked the historic milestone in Hungary.
JYSK store openings world rarely go unnoticed, and Hungary's 100th store was no exception. Customers began lining up early in the morning, and by the end of the day, many customers went home with great offers.
"The best part of the opening was seeing the big line of customers getting longer and longer, eventually extending all the way outside the centre. I think the store looks fantastic, my colleagues were well-prepared, our products were perfectly presented, and we received a lot of positive feedback from our customers," says Store Manager Sandor Czegledi.
A great honour
At the opening ceremony, JYSK President & CEO Rami Jensen and Country Director for Hungary, Austria, and Greece, Sandor Szimeiszter, gave speeches. Denmark's Ambassador to Hungary, Christian Thorning, was also present at the historic event.
"Being part of the opening of the 100th store in Hungary was a great honour for me, and although I was very tired after the opening, I was also very proud – both of my team and everyone who contributed to our success and with a record-breaking opening in turnover it doesn’t get much better than that," says Store Manager Sandor.
Local and national media in Hungary covered the grand opening from the store in Debrecen in the eastern part of Hungary.
