JYSK is now the main sponsor for disabled sports associations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Just before the opening of the Paralympic Games in Rio on 7 September, Country Manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Peter Branyik, was able to announce the good news that JYSK is also now one of the main sponsors for the paralympic commitee in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. JYSK can now add another two countries to the list of places where the company supports disabled sports associations.
“The association were very surprised when I contacted them to say that we would like
to be a sponsor. The people from Slovakia travelled over 400 kilometres to our office in Prague to meet me and discuss the matter properly,” recalls Peter Branyik.
In the first instance, the collaboration with disabled sports in the two countries will stretch over four years under the slogan “From Rio to Tokyo.” The background for JYSK’s support of the paralympic athletes in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is the same as in the other countries where JYSK is a sponsor.
“We don’t really have any specific goals about what we hope to get out of the sponsorship. We just want to support the athletes because they work extra hard despite their handicap and possess an incredible strength of will, which is inspiring to everyone,” says Peter.
