A total of 750 companies are on the business magazine Forbes’ list of the best employers in the world. Among them is JYSK.

GOJYSK.com asked three Store Managers what this recognition means to them, and what they believe it will give to JYSK as a company.

“I am proud to work in a company that has been named as one of the world’s best employers. JYSK Slovakia has also been recognised as Best Employer three years in a row! When I started in JYSK thirteen years ago, the company was not well-known here. Today, friends of mine call me in connection with open job positions in JYSK. People know JYSK and our products and that makes me even prouder to be a part of such a great success.“

“For me personally, this recognition means trust. When I applied for a position at JYSK in 2017, I read in the company’s description that JYSK wants to be the first choice for employees within retail. This convinced me to apply. After I was hired, I noticed how focused we are on the work environment and employee development.

For JYSK, this recognition is a step forward in the recruitment market. The recruitment was difficult during the past two years. We need to adapt to what new generations want, and it is a challenge to promote our values. This recognition could attract more candidates who believe our values are suited for them. By default, our tradesman image is also improved when customers see we are also a good employer.”

“I feel proud working for a company that is so highly ranked. It means that we are doing something right in our work to develop our employees. For me personally, I thrive when things happen around me, so this feels incredibly exciting to hear.”

“For JYSK, it must be even bigger than for me. The award should benefit us in the hunt for people that are really competent in what they are doing. I would expect more applications from people, who hear about this news and want to be a part of what we are doing. People will also acknowledge that a position within JYSK is not only a job, but a job with a lot of possibilities.”

Facts about the survey

  • Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile the ranking by surveying 150,000 full-time and part-time workers from 58 countries working for multinational companies and institutions.
  • Survey participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. They were also asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out positively or negatively.
